Our Wheelhouse Distilling Co. story began in 2020 with our first venture, Potent Potables Mixers.
Like so many people that summer, we suddenly found ourselves with extra time at home. We started experimenting in the kitchen, creating cocktail mixers with fresh-squeezed juices, homemade syrups, and the best ingredients we could find. What began as a fun creative project quickly became something we couldn't wait to share. We started delivering bottles to friends as a little pick-me-up, and before long, word spread.
Soon we were popping up at local farmers' markets and welcoming customers into our storefront in Middletown, NJ, where Potent Potables Mixers became known for making it easy to craft delicious cocktails at home.
Then came an unexpected opportunity.
In 2024, our friend and fellow farmers' market vendor, Tim, shared that he was retiring and closing Dachshund Distilling Co. While we were excited for his well-earned next chapter, we couldn't help but imagine what might come next for us. With Tim's generosity, guidance, and encouragement, we learned the art of distilling and took the leap into creating our own spirits.
Today, Wheelhouse Distilling Co. brings everything we love together: thoughtfully crafted spirits, fresh ingredients, and cocktails made with care. More than anything, we wanted to create the kind of neighborhood spot where everyone feels welcome—a place to gather with friends, discover a new favorite drink, and enjoy great conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.
